Not medical advice
GLP Fasting explains research, regulation, and common practice around GLP-1 medications and intermittent fasting in plain language. We are a publication, not a medical practice. Reading this site does not create a clinician–patient relationship, and our content is never a substitute for personalized care from a physician, pharmacist, or registered dietitian.
Never start, stop, or change a prescription medication, or begin a fasting practice, because of something you read here — bring it to your care team first. If you think you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Fasting carries real risks for some people
Combining intermittent fasting with diabetes medication — particularly insulin or sulfonylureas — can cause dangerous low blood sugar and requires medical supervision. Fasting is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with a history of disordered eating, for type 1 diabetes outside specialist care, or for people who are underweight. Our fasting guide covers this in detail, with sources.
How we handle evidence
Every guide ends with a “Sources” section citing high-level evidence — peer-reviewed trials and reviews, regulatory documents, and clinical guidelines — and every link is verified before publishing. Where evidence is early or mixed, we say so. Research evolves, and a claim that was well-supported at publication may age; we correct errors when readers point them out at hello@glpfasting.com. Our editorial standards describe this in full.
Independence
GLP Fasting is independent. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or paid by any pharmaceutical company, telehealth service, or supplement seller, and we run no advertising. If that ever changes, we will disclose it plainly here and on the about page.
